MAC Lipsticks - Freckletone and Syrup

Hi lovelies ! Lately I have been lipstick crazed so I picked up these two beauties from MAC! They are both Lustre finishes so you can wear them without any gloss on top and they still look glossy. The first one is a nude color for me, Freckletone. It is a pinky brown and does not make me look like I;m sickly. This is now my go to nude lipstick! The second one is Syrup, when I was looking at the lipsticks I wanted a pinky color that I could wear anytime and I fell in love with this one. It is more of a mauve color, however it looks great with my skin tone and this my go to lipstick, I throw it in my bag and reach for it all the time now! I really love the lustre finish lipsticks because they give you great color as well as moisture which is always great! I can't wait to try out more MAC lipsticks ! What MAC lipsticks, or any brand lipsticks do you guys like and prefer ?

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish - Cheeky Bronze

Hey guys! So in continuation from my last post about Global Glow, I ended up exchanging it for this highlighter, Cheeky Bronze. This one is more like Stereo Rose than the other one. This has more of a peachy/ rose gold hue to it while the other one was more of gold glitter. The pictures on the left are with the flash and the left is with no flash. I must say, this is my favorite highlighter right now. It gives me the glow I want and doesn't make me look like Edward in Twilight ! I think I like this one  much better because it is much closer to beloved Stereo Rose, but all in all I give it a 4/5 because it is a bit shimmery so you have to be very careful with it, but when done right, it gives you the most beautiful highlight. I think this would work well with medium brown skin tones like mine, I'm currently a NC42/ NC45. And just so you guys know i put it about where i put my blush and down my nose as well as above my cupids bow, for the perfect highlight!

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish - Global Glow Review

Hey guys ! So one day I was on MAC and I asked the girl about contouring, so she showed me. The product she used to highlight was the Mineralize Skin Finish in Stereo Rose, which I am IN LOVE with. However, unfortunately, shortly after i got it, it disappeared out of sight. Ever since then I have been looking for a replacement for my beloved Stereo Rose.
In my search I went into MAC again and the girl there recommended me to this highlighter, so I just bought it, without really thinking it about it. And here is my review on it:

To begin with, MAC changed the packaging on their products because this is a little harder to open than the Stereo Rose I had, which kinda made me upset but whatever, its about the product. When I swatched it originally in MAC, I loved the color and the look this gave off. However, after using it like 2 or 3 times, I came to realize that it didn't really do much for me other than  make it look like my face was all glittery.
So in the end I did take it back, it was not beloved Stereo Rose. Don't get me wrong it is a great highlighter but it just wasn't for me.
I would give this product a 4/5 its great just not for me and my large pores.

Hey guys! So I decided to give Birchbox a try and February was my first box!
So in my I received 5 things, in addition to a US Weekly magazine subscription.
Here's what was in my box:
1. Pores No More from Dr. Brandt

So for $10 this was not bad at all. There were a variety of products and the sizes were pretty good this month.

2. This perfume was ok, not my favorite but the sample was nice.

Beauty Blender Review and How To

Hey Guys! So I finally got my hands on a beauty blender and I'm so excited about it! I got it from a trade I did. Anyways, I used it for the first time today and it was AMAZING !
This is how I used it:
1. I ran the Beauty Blender under cold water in the sink
2. Squeezed out the excess water
3. Dot my foundation on my face
4. Use the BB to even apply the dots by using "pouncing" motions
5. I also used it for concealer under my eyes using the pointed end

All in all, i really love how this sponge works, it gives a great air brushed look!

When you are done with the Beauty Blender it is recommended that you wash it. I washed mine with the soap it came with in warm water. Here's how I did it:
1. Put a few dots (2-3) of the soap on the BB
2. Rub it in, focusing on the dirtiest parts
3. Wash it out under the faucet with warm water
4. Squeeze the excess water out
5. Wrap in a hand towel and squeeze it
6. Set it out to dry

I give the beauty blender a 5/5 for a rating ! make sure you guys comment and let me know your experiences with the Beauty Blender!

-XOXO

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque Review

Hi guys! So I'm going to do a review on the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque ! This is a product I have been using for a while now, my aunt first introduced me to it actually. Anyways, the mask is green and comes in a jar. You apply after washing your face. It says to leave on for 15 minutes but I usually do an hour because of my large pores. So what does it do? Well first of all it sucks up the blackheads from your skin as well as absorbs excess oil. Additionally this mask makes your pores appear smaller. From my own experience, after using this product on my face for an hour, it's much smoother and my pores are smaller. Then the next day any blemishes I had are either gone or nearly gone ! It's great! You can also put a little dab on a pimple and sleep with it on there and it'll be gone in the morning. Over all I love this mask! It's had a refreshing and cooling feel while on and provides great results! This is a product I use once a week and would recommend to everyone !

Cleaning makeup brushes !

Hi guys! So I decided to clean my makeup brushes tonight since I haven't since I came home from college for spring break. A lot of people don't know that they should wash their makeup brushes or they don't know how. So I'm going to tell you guys how I wash mine. To begin here's what you need:
-shampoo/soap
-water
-clean wash rags / towel
-antibacterial brush spray (optional)
-alcohol
-paper towels

How to clean brushes:
1. Hold the brush facing down & get it wet under warm water
2. Put a small drop of the shampoo or soap on your hand, I use my Treseme Deep Cleanse shampoo
3. Swirl brush in shampoo, lather it up
4. Rinse well
5. Repeat for all brushes, some may need a couple of washes before they are clean (i.e foundation brushes)
6. Now that the bristles are clean you need to disinfect the handles, put some alcohol on a paper towel to dampen it and wipe down the brush handles
7. Use a rolled up towel on top of a towel that is spread out on a flag surface and put your brushes on the roll so they are slanted, bristles laying on the towel that is spread out
8. Leave them to dry for several hours or overnight
9. I spray mine with the ELF daily brush cleanser at this point since it disinfects the bristles
10. When you wake up, or come back later you have fresh makeup brushes!

I hope this helped you guys get an idea of how to wash your brushes!
Happy washing,

Xoxo
Kim ❤️

Ipsy February 2014

Hii guys! I know this is kinda late, again, but I have really been busy with school!
This month's Ipsy was great! The theme is "The Look of Love" which is perfect for February and Valentines Day! The bag is pink with a white zipper and a pink leopard inside, I love it! In my bag this month I got:
1. Nume Intense Renewal Mask
2. Tini Beauty Eyetini Cordial Cream Shadow + Base In One
3. Zoya Nailpolish
4. City Color Be Matte Blush
5. Pop Beauty Lipgloss

I really loved this month's bag and the items I got, so here are my reviews:
1. This mask is suppose to help with dry hair, I have not used this yet but I'm so excited to try it!
2. Ok so let's talk cream eyeshadows, this one by Tini Beauty is GREAT! It is a metallic gold color, it can be used a base shadow or a color on your lid, either way it is really pigmented and beautiful! I love it!
3. Zoya Nailpolishes are great and in this month's bag we got a full size polish, I got the color Odette, which is a pretty purple color. The formula is amazing, 2 coats and a topcoat makes for a perfect mani!
4. This is pretty big full size matte blush, I love matte blushes so I am excited to try it but the color might be a little in the light side for my skin tone, we shall see.
5. Last and certainly least I got the Pop Beauty lipgloss in peony petal. It is a nice bright pinky color HOWEVER it smells like burning plastic! That is not appealing at all. So I emailed Ipsy and they are sending a replacement. We'll see how that goes.

But overall, this months Ipsy was pretty good, 3 full size products that i really liked and maybe even loved. Additionally Ipsy is sending me a replacement lipgloss, yay! Their customer service is great, which makes their company even greater than it already is! You guys should really check them out and subscribe http://www.ipsy.com/r/2rby

Ipsy January 2014

Hi guys! I know this post is late but I have been so busy with school and life. Anyways lets get to it. This is my January Ipsy bag, minus one item that my mom took! This month's theme was 19 Reasons. In my bag I received the following items:
1. Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner
2. Apothederm® Bright Skin Serum
3. Absolute! Makeup Cleansing Tissue
4. MicaBeauty Tinted Lip Balm
5. (not pictured) Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow

This month's bag was not my favorite there was only one thing I really loved which was the lip balm.
Here are my reviews of the items:
1. The leave in conditioner smells ok, however I already have oily hair so it is not for me, it would be good for someone with dry hair though..
2. Ok this serum is suppose to brighten skin, even tone and minimize pores. Lets just say that it does NONE of that! I have huge pores and it did nothing! If you want tight, dry skin then try using this product, I really hate it !
3. When I got these I thought they would be perfect for just throwing in my purse,  however when i got them and actually opened them they did not smell pleasing. They say that they are pomegranate extract scented however, to me they smell like alcohol, and I do not want to put that in my face!
4. Mica Beauty, you have made a fabulous lipbalm! I really love this lip balm it is really pigmented and hydrating ! It also came in a perfect natural color that I absolutely love! I would definitely buy this item when I'm finished with it!
5. The Elizabeth Mott eyeshadow stick was a nice color however I don't use shadow sticks so my mom took it. I can't really comment other than to say it was really creamy.

Overall, I did not like my Ipsy this month but there's always next month!

If you guys want to sign up, it is $10 a month and you receive 3-4 beauty products as well as a makeup bag! Here's the referral link! http://www.ipsy.com/r/2rby

Montagne Jeunesse Clay Spas

Ok guys, I'm back after the holidays which were kind of hectic. Any who, today I am going to be talking about Montagne Jeunesse Clay Spas. They are basically these face mask packages that are really good for the skin. They come in three categories: Dead Sea Mud, Glacial Clay and Red Earth Clay. I have tried the Dead Sea Mud and I love it, it is really great for your skin. After putting it on you wait about 10 to 15 minutes and then remove it and wash your face off. After applying this mask my face feels so fresh and clean. It also helps diminish any skin irritations you may have had! I highly recommend it !
The things i really love about these masks are:
-they are great for the skin
-they give you a revitalized fresh look
-they are affordable

You really can't go bad trying these masks!
