February Birchbox

Hey guys! So I decided to give Birchbox a try and February was my first box!
So in my I received 5 things, in addition to a US Weekly magazine subscription.
Here's what was in my box:
1. Pores No More from Dr. Brandt
2. L'eau de Cristal perfume
3. Beauty Protector Oil
4. OPI Sheer Tint Topcoat
5. Harney and Sons Fine tea

So for $10 this was not bad at all. There were a variety of products and the sizes were pretty good this month.

Here are my thoughts about the products:
1. I love the Pores No More! I have huge pores and this helps a lot! I recommend for anyone with large pores.
2. This perfume was ok, not my favorite but the sample was nice.
3. I don't use oil on my hair, but for people who do this would be great :)
4. I love purple so this topcoat was perfect for me and the little bottle is so cute. The formula dries pretty fast as well!
5. I do drink tea, so I don't mind getting tea samples, to me they are yummy!

Over all I do like Birchbox, and they have a great point system as well. For every product you get, you review it and get 10 points, which equals a dollar in the birchbox store :)

Beauty Blender Review and How To

Hey Guys! So I finally got my hands on a beauty blender and I'm so excited about it! I got it from a trade I did. Anyways, I used it for the first time today and it was AMAZING !
This is how I used it:
1. I ran the Beauty Blender under cold water in the sink
2. Squeezed out the excess water
3. Dot my foundation on my face
4. Use the BB to even apply the dots by using "pouncing" motions
5. I also used it for concealer under my eyes using the pointed end

All in all, i really love how this sponge works, it gives a great air brushed look!

When you are done with the Beauty Blender it is recommended that you wash it. I washed mine with the soap it came with in warm water. Here's how I did it:
1. Put a few dots (2-3) of the soap on the BB
2. Rub it in, focusing on the dirtiest parts
3. Wash it out under the faucet with warm water
4. Squeeze the excess water out
5. Wrap in a hand towel and squeeze it
6. Set it out to dry

I give the beauty blender a 5/5 for a rating ! make sure you guys comment and let me know your experiences with the Beauty Blender!

-XOXO

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque Review

Hi guys! So I'm going to do a review on the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque ! This is a product I have been using for a while now, my aunt first introduced me to it actually. Anyways, the mask is green and comes in a jar. You apply after washing your face. It says to leave on for 15 minutes but I usually do an hour because of my large pores. So what does it do? Well first of all it sucks up the blackheads from your skin as well as absorbs excess oil. Additionally this mask makes your pores appear smaller. From my own experience, after using this product on my face for an hour, it's much smoother and my pores are smaller. Then the next day any blemishes I had are either gone or nearly gone ! It's great! You can also put a little dab on a pimple and sleep with it on there and it'll be gone in the morning. Over all I love this mask! It's had a refreshing and cooling feel while on and provides great results! This is a product I use once a week and would recommend to everyone !

Cleaning makeup brushes !

Hi guys! So I decided to clean my makeup brushes tonight since I haven't since I came home from college for spring break. A lot of people don't know that they should wash their makeup brushes or they don't know how. So I'm going to tell you guys how I wash mine. To begin here's what you need:
-shampoo/soap
-water
-clean wash rags / towel
-antibacterial brush spray (optional)
-alcohol
-paper towels

How to clean brushes:
1. Hold the brush facing down & get it wet under warm water
2. Put a small drop of the shampoo or soap on your hand, I use my Treseme Deep Cleanse shampoo
3. Swirl brush in shampoo, lather it up
4. Rinse well
5. Repeat for all brushes, some may need a couple of washes before they are clean (i.e foundation brushes)
6. Now that the bristles are clean you need to disinfect the handles, put some alcohol on a paper towel to dampen it and wipe down the brush handles
7. Use a rolled up towel on top of a towel that is spread out on a flag surface and put your brushes on the roll so they are slanted, bristles laying on the towel that is spread out
8. Leave them to dry for several hours or overnight
9. I spray mine with the ELF daily brush cleanser at this point since it disinfects the bristles
10. When you wake up, or come back later you have fresh makeup brushes!

I hope this helped you guys get an idea of how to wash your brushes!
Happy washing,

Xoxo
Kim ❤️
